        The Grassy Point Sailing Community has both sail and power boats. Power boats can always use Sailboat waters, but the reverse is not true.

Sunseeker Resort



Allegiant Air is the sole air carrier at Punta Gorda Airport. Allegiant Air has grown to serve more than 350 routes from 120 cities, more than any other US carrier.

Allegiant Travel Company is currently building the Sunseeker Resort on Charlotte Harbor between Tamiami Trail and Bayshore Live Oak Park. Plans include 277 hotel rooms and 842 condominium units in nine condo towers, restaurants, bars, shops, marinas, fitness center, medical facility, grocery store with pharmacy and much more.

Sunseeker Resort is offering mySunseeker accounts. Sunseeker Resort is focused on bringing leisure travelers from smaller cities across America to its premier vacation destination, Sunseeker Resort in Port Charlotte.

December 21, 2018: Charlotte Sun Newspaper Article: Resort switches gears along Charlotte Harbor--- Groundbreaking for vertical construction is anticipated to begin in February 2019.

December 12, 2018: Charlotte Sun Newspaper Article: The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers confirmed that it issued a permit on Nov. 29 for the construction of a 934-foot concrete seawall.

November 9, 2018: Charlotte Sun Newspaper Article: Was this the last chance to complain about Sunseeker? Sunseeker criticism arose from local residents concerned about the resort’s minimalist parking plan, and access to public parks next to the resort.

October 13, 2018: Charlotte Sun Newspaper Article: Charlotte County Shorelines – a look forward. Charlotte County has dealt with numerous, controversial real estate issues involving our shoreline property and its water quality.

October 10, 2018: The Sunseeker Resort project was formally unveiled in August 2017. Plans have since changed dramatically. Originally it was to be a complex with up to 10 towers of individually-owned condos and a small hotel (76 rooms). It has turned into a large hotel (500 rooms) with a small component of suites (180) that may end up as condos.

August 29, 2018: An outstanding issue between the Charlotte Harbor Community Redevelopment Agency (Plan) and the Sunseeker Resort is the 2,150 foot easement for a public access harbor walkway between the Bayshore Live Oak Park and the US-41 bridge to Punta Gorda.

July 2, 2018: Allegiant stated that it is buying Kingsway Country Club in Lake Suzy (Par 72, 18-hole championship golf course) to complement its planned Sunseeker Resort.

June 7, 2018: Kimley-Horn & Associates performed a Sunseeker Parking Analysis. It is important to note that on Page 4 of this Analysis it states that Sunseeker Resort will provide 4,168 parking spaces. This volume of vehicles will definitely have an significant impact on Edgewater traffic. It can be assumed that the out-of-towners staying at Sunseeker will not be famaliar with cross-streets and intersections (Edgewater & Cousley).

June 4, 2018: Allegiant Air President, John Redmond, a former president and CEO of MGM Grand Resorts appointed Micah Richins, recently was chief commercial officer for MGM Resorts International, with more than 25 years of experience in the hospitality industry. "Micah is a seasoned leader who brings a unique depth of knowledge across the full spectrum of the hospitality industry, from customer experience and entertainment development to revenue and organizational leadership."

March 27, 2018: Considerations, benefits and concerns regarding "fast-tracking" the Sunseeker Resort.

February 27, 2018: Charlotte County Commissioners approved plans for Sunseeker to build a public parking garage on the west side of US 41 near Bayshore Live Oak Park.

February 22, 2018: The Sunset Grill on Bayshore Drive, a favorite to many was demolished. Sad to say out with the old; happy to say in with the new, Sunseeker Resort. The beautiful sunsets are here to stay.
